At Springfield Healthcare, our growth and development is powered by the commitment and the dedication of our incredible staff. That’s why we are thrilled to announce a well-deserved promotion within our team! Christina Rogers has stepped up from Care Co-Ordinator to her new role as Complex Care Co-Ordinator.
During her time as Care Co-Ordinator, Christina consistently demonstrated a commitment to those she supports, ensuring they received the care they needed. In her new role, Christina will play a pivotal part in organising our complex care packages, helping individuals with long-term health needs stay safe and supported in the comfort of their own homes.
In the latest edition of our Meet the Team series, we sat down with Christina to discuss her new day-to-day role, what makes her role so rewarding, and what her vision is for Springfield’s Complex Care service.

Describe how your career has progressed to get you where you are today?
I have worked in care since I left school, and it’s something I have always been passionate about. I have worked for a few different care companies in my career, but Springfield has always been the one that fits me best. I initially never had an interest in being in the office as I love being out in the community, but then things started to change and I wanted to make a bigger difference. Therefore, I applied for an On Call position, following this I then became a Care Co-Ordinator which I did for 4 years. Today, I am now in my new role as Complex Care Co-Ordinator.
What is your role and day-to-day duties?
I am currently transitioning to Complex Care Co-Ordinator, which brings a host of day-to-day duties. I am responsible for ensuring that all customers in my areas receive high-quality care, and approving carer holidays. I manage and organise our DPS service, liaise with social services, brokerage and other external bodies. I am solely responsible for growth across Hull and all the complex care packages in Yorkshire. I also play a big part in On Call and support many branches out of hours. Additionally, I organise and plan our team leader and bank workers and ensure compliance throughout my work.
What initially drew you to work in care?
I initially fell into working in care when I left school and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I quickly found that I really enjoyed it and have not looked back since.
What is the most rewarding part of your new role?
Two things spring to mind: getting people home with the right care and supporting so they can live fulfilled and enjoyable lives, and end of life care. It is an absolute privilege to care for someone in their final days and make it as comfortable as possible for them and their families.
With complex care often involving multiple parties, how do you ensure that everyone stays aligned on the client’s specific needs?
Clear communication is incredibly vital. You must build and develop those relationships and have regular contact to make sure everyone is aligned on the same goal.
What advice would you give to a carer or support worker who may wish to follow a similar career pathway?
If you don’t care, don’t do it. I’ve seen too many people who see this is as an easy job and it simply is not. At the end of the day, this is people’s lives and we are there to support them, and for that you must care.
What is the main vision you have set out for our Complex Care division in your new role?
I want those who have been failed previously to be able to shine and grow and live a happy and healthy life. I also want those who may be considered difficult or different to feel that they aren’t. They are just like everyone else and deserve to be treated and cared for the same way.
Looking ahead to the next 12 months, what would success look like in your new role?
I want to build a dedicated team of caring and compassionate people who are genuinely passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those we support. I also want to be in a position where I don’t have to turn packages away and I can meet everyone’s needs regardless of what they are.
How has the landscape of care changed since you first started your career?
Care has changed massively since the start of my career. It was always almost a forgotten sector where we didn’t have as many restrictions as we do have today. However, the restrictions that are in place are definitely a positive for the sector as it causes less harm to the people who need care.
When you aren’t at work, how do you like to spend your time?
I have 4 children and a grandchild, so I like to spend time with them. I also like to join my grandma and mum when they go out for breakfast and lunch. Family is everything to me and I give my all to my family and work family.
