At Springfield Healthcare, we are always incredibly proud of the dedication and kindness that is displayed throughout our communities. We are absolutely thrilled to share a wonderful achievement from the team at Campbell Court, who recently hosted a special fundraising afternoon tea in support of Dementia UK. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, supported and donated, the event raised a phenomenal £1,000!

A Day Filled with Community

The fundraising afternoon tea was a brilliant success, bringing together residents, families, and staff for a day filled with laughter and delicious treats. The afternoon was packed with activities to help raise vital funds for Dementia UK. These included a raffle and tombola, bingo, and a beautiful selection of sweet treats.

Driving the Effort: A Huge Thank You to Jan

An event like this doesn’t just happen by itself, it takes passion, organisation and a lot of hard work. The entire afternoon was organised by our wonderful carer, Jan Barker. Jan went above and beyond to ensure the day was a success, coordinating the activities, gathering prizes and making sure all those who attended had a fantastic time. Her dedication to the cause and to our residents shines through in everything she does, and the final total raised is a testament to her hard work. Thank you, Jan!

Jan Barker, Carer at Campbell Court and Event Organiser, said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who came along and supported our afternoon tea.”

“It’s took several months to organise the event, but seeing our residents, their families, and the staff come together to raise £1,000 for such an important cause made every minute worth it. Dementia UK does incredible work, and I’m so proud that our Campbell Court family could give something back.”

Donna Kelly, Registered Manager at Campbell Court spoke on her admiration for Jan, “When Jan came and asked if she could do a fundraising event for Dementia UK, of course I said yes straight away!”

“Jan then spent the next month preparing and it was so nice to see so many people getting involved and supporting her. When Jan said she had raised £1,000, I was so proud of her and everyone who was involved.”

Following the success of the event, the excitement continued this week at Campbell Court. We were delighted to welcome Susan from Dementia UK, who travelled to the branch to personally receive the charity cheque.

Susan Ogden, of Dementia UK, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit Campbell Court on Monday. The staff made me feel most welcome and Jan has done an amazing job! She seems keen to do the same thing next year so I hope to visit then to support her efforts.”

Dementia UK is a charity incredibly close to our hearts at Springfield Healthcare. The work they do to support families, provide expert guidance and bring comfort during difficult times is invaluable, and we are proud to support their mission.

Thank You!

On behalf of Springfield Healthcare, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who played a part in this event, from Jan and the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, to the residents and families who donated so generously. You have each made a real difference!
