In a touching act of dedication and kindness, a Springfield home care employee went above and beyond this Valentine’s Day, treating her customer’s to their favourite meal, fish and chips from Ripon’s beloved North Street Fisheries.
This year has been another busy one for us, and we’re incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication of our carers who go above and beyond to provide exceptional care to our customers. We’re also thankful for the trust and support of our customers and their families throughout the year.

While many decide to celebrate with romantic dinners and chocolates, Jenny Elleker from our North Yorkshire branch decided to focus on what truly mattered to her customers – comfort, familiarity and a good old-fashioned chippy tea.
“For many of our customers, Valentine’s Day can be a lonely time,” explained JemmaEllis, service lead of Springfield Healthcare North Yorkshire.
“They don’t want fancy meals or grand gestures. What they really crave is a taste of home, something that brings back happy memories. And for this couple, that was a chippy tea from North Street Fisheries.”
Jenny, who has been a carer with Springfield since 2009, knew that her customers, Ann and Johnston, often reminisce about enjoying fish and chips from the local chippy. She decided to treat them with a special Valentine’s delivery, ensuring each meal was tailored to their individual preferences.

Ann and Johnston were so pleased to celebrate Valentines Day in this way, and North Street Fisheries, a staple in the Ripon community, were delighted to be a part of Jenny’s thoughtful initiative.
