As we settle into the New Year, we wanted to take a moment to look back at the incredible festive celebrations that took place across our Springfield Healthcare family. December was a month filled with joy, community spirit and an overwhelming sense of generosity.
From charitable giving to traditional festivities, here is how our teams and customers celebrated the season.
The team at Springfield Healthcare South Tyneside started a wonderful new tradition this year. Rather than receiving individual gifts, the team collectively decided to donate their £150 Christmas fund to Pawz for Thought, a local animal rescue charity in Sunderland. We are immensely proud of our carers for showing such selflessness and compassion for our furry friends.
At Campbell Court, the lounge was transformed into a theatre for a special pantomime performance that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The fun continued with a festive party featuring music and games. We owe a huge thank you to the performers who made it a day to remember for our customers.
Our Darlington celebration was one for the books! Between the Christmas music, games and delicious treats, the atmosphere was wonderful. Most impressively, the team held a raffle and fundraising events throughout the year that raised a fantastic £800 for Papyrus UK, a charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. It was a brilliant afternoon that truly captured the meaning of Christmas.
In Newcastle, customers and staff gathered at The Denton for a traditional three-course Christmas lunch. It was a lovely opportunity to sit down together, share a meal and enjoy a variety of games and prizes. The afternoon was the perfect way to celebrate the bond between our team and those we care for.
The Sheffield team opted for a lively celebration last month, bringing staff and customers together for a feast of pizza and cake. With classic Christmas tunes playing and plenty of games to go around, it was a fantastic way to celebrate our valued community.
The lead-up to Christmas was a busy one at the Springfield Care Home, with a packed schedule of events to keep spirits high. Residents enjoyed a whole host of activities, including our Christmas Fair, festive performances that brought the magic of live music to our home and the creation of Christmas cocktails for a sophisticated twist on the usual refreshments. The celebrations also included various crafts and games, where creative sessions produced beautiful Christmas cards and provided plenty of entertainment for everyone involved.
