At our recent Staff Achievement and Recognition Awards, we were thrilled to carry on our long-standing tradition of presenting the CEO Recognition Awards. Dating back to the very beginning of the awards in 2017, it was brilliant to carry on that tradition and celebrate several very special people.
The first CEO Recognition Award is Brittany Bloomfield, from our Darlington branch. Her passion for care is deeply personal. When she and her sister were younger, their Mum sadly passed away. During this time, Brittany helped support her Mum as much as she could. She was able to experience first-hand the incredible difference that care and support can make, not only to the individual, but to the whole family.
In her role today, Brittany has proved to be a genuine champion of dignity and person-centred care. Her work with those she supports is exceptional and she is fully committed to helping people life enjoyable and fulfilling lives.
In her own time, Brittany has even researched and sourced new technology to help improve the quality of life for those she cares for. An example of this includes purchasing an inflatable hair-washing basin for an individual who simply wanted to wash her hair properly with water and shampoo. The impact of this selfless act was remarkable, restoring a sense of normality and dignity for the individual. This solution helped the individual reconnect with an experience she once enjoyed so much, going to the hairdressers.
Brittany is worthy winner of this award and absolutely deserves the recognition.
The second CEO Recognition Award winner is awarded to Jamie Langan, from Springfield Care Home. Since joining the team in 2021, Jamie’s time at Springfield has involved multiple roles including Night Care, Night Senior, Day Senior and Residential Lead, before starting in her current position as Deputy Manager. Throughout this role, Jamie has promoted a culture of accountability and learning, ensuring staff are empowered to provide the highest standards of care.
Jamie’s leadership approach is inclusive and values-based, focusing on staff development through regular supervision, training opportunities and clear succession planning. Ultimately, Jamie is passionate about creating a safe and homely environment where our residents are treated with dignity and respect and are supported to maintain independence wherever possible.
Jamie is an inspiration to the Springfield family and an integral member of our care home team.
Our final CEO Recognition Award winner is awarded to Linda B’s care team. Linda has been part of our service in York for more than 25 years and truly believes that life is worth living. Prior coming into our service, Linda worked as a hairdresser, and her bubbly personality, warmth, and love for a good chat continues to shine each day.
With compassionate support from her team, Linda has continued to live a full and independent life, making the most of the things she enjoys. With a person-centred approach at the very heart of what this they do, the team have ensured that Linda has received more than 25 years of exceptional care and support.
Their understanding of Linda is second to none and her difficulties in life are overcome by tremendous thought and efforts in everything the team do. The team truly leads by example.
