Staff at Springfield Healthcare Sheffield are celebrating after receiving an overall rating of ‘Good’ following the first-ever inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The home care service, which supports older people and young adults across Sheffield with personal daily care and live-in care, has been delivering care in the local community since 2024. The team currently provides care and support to 224 clients and employs 114 dedicated staff.
The CQC inspection, found Springfield Healthcare Sheffield to be ‘Good’ in four key areas — Safe, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led, leading to an overall rating of Good.
Inspectors praised the service for its strong leadership, commitment to continuous improvement, and positive feedback from people using the service.
People and families using the service shared their appreciation for the care they receive.

One client said, “They treat me with respect and are gentle with me,” while another relative commented, “They always treat [my loved one] with kindness and respect.”
The report noted that, “Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Staff felt supported and overall told us they felt happy in their roles.”
It also highlighted that, “The provider promoted people’s independence and staff understood the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence and making choices about their care.”

Springfield Healthcare Sheffield took over care provision in two Sheffield areas in July 2024, successfully transferring people and staff from previous providers.
