THE SPRINGFIELD
Youth Academy
The Future of Healthcare
At Springfield Healthcare, we’re dedicated to nurturing the next generation of compassionate care professionals. Our Youth Academy was created with a clear purpose – to inspire and guide young people toward a rewarding career in the health and social care sector.
Our Goal
The healthcare industry is facing a demographic challenge. The average age of a care worker in the UK is currently 48. Without proactive engagement from the younger generation, we anticipate a considerable staffing shortage as our experienced colleagues retire.
To bridge this looming gap and cultivate meaningful career pathways for the next generation, we established the Youth Academy. Our mission is to inspire individuals to consider a career in care, building upon the foundational health and social care education they may receive within school.

Our Aims
Through this program, we aim to:
- Raise awareness of the many different career journeys available within healthcare.
- Increase understanding of the core principles of care.
- Develop confidence through practical, scenario-based training.
- Enhance opportunities for entry and advancement in the industry.
- Provide dedicated mentoring and support through recruitment and qualification processes.
- Facilitate pathways to apprenticeships, career opportunities, further qualifications and even a future Nursing Associate Program.
